Founded in 1991 by a group of dedicated community members, the Beaches Town Center Agency was created with a clear vision: to enhance the shared Central Business District of Atlantic Beach and Neptune Beach, making it more beautiful, welcoming, and pedestrian-friendly.
Early efforts focused on meaningful streetscape improvements, including lush landscaping, public gathering spaces, benches, bike racks, and the signature brick sidewalks that continue to help define the character of Beaches Town Center today.
More than three decades later, the all-volunteer Beaches Town Center Agency board continues that mission by reinvesting 100% of proceeds into projects that support, beautify, and strengthen the Atlantic Beach and Neptune Beach Central Business District.
The Agency’s fundraising efforts include engraved brick sales, Dancin’ in the Street™, Coastal Barrel & Vine Tasting - Beaches Restaurant Week, the annual Beaches Tour of Homes, the BTC Golf Classic, and generous private donations from community supporters.
Each year, the Agency also coordinates the beloved Season of Lights holiday display in partnership with the Cities of Atlantic Beach and Neptune Beach, bringing festive illumination and community spirit to the heart of Beaches Town Center.
The Beaches Tour of Homes is a signature fundraising event benefiting the Beaches Town Center Agency nonprofit, supporting its continued investment in the Atlantic Beach and Neptune Beach Central Business District and the greater Beaches community.
Now in its 9th year, the Tour has grown into one of the area’s most anticipated weekend experiences — a celebration of beautiful homes, coastal design, community connection, and meaningful local impact. What makes the event especially remarkable is the dedication behind it: the Tour is fully volunteer-coordinated, bringing together more than 200 volunteers, homeowners, sponsors, local businesses, and community partners to create an unforgettable experience for guests.
Proceeds from the Tour help support community-focused initiatives, educational endowments and scholarships for students pursuing fields that shape the built environment — including architecture, engineering, construction, interior design, and related community-building disciplines. The event also helps provide assistance to local military families who may need support with small home repairs.
More than a home tour, this weekend reflects the spirit of the Beaches: generous, creative, welcoming, and deeply committed to building a stronger, more beautiful community.
